There is much more to traveling than just boarding a plane. Traveling should always remain fun and exiting. When it comes to planning your trip, you have lots of different options available. Are you prepared to work hard in order to plan the trip of a lifetime? No matter how you answer, here’s some advice.
Try and leave important valuables at home. You don’t want to have to keep track of these valuables at all times, and even worse, they could get stolen.
IF you are in a foreign city, make sure that you are not dealing with people posing as police or other officials. Do not let anyone have your passport unless you are sure they are legitimate. Walk or drive your own car to a police station if you are asked to. Perhaps the most important thing is to never allow yourself to enter a strange person’s vehicle.
The type of digital camera you take on your trip should be dependent on the trip you are taking. For instance, if your trip involves backpacking, it may not be wise to have a camera with a rechargeable battery. Choose one that turns on quickly so you never miss a shot.
Use caution when getting into a taxi in a foreign country. Do not hop in if you get a bad feeling. Any idiots can slap a “taxi” sign onto their car and you never know who they might be or where they might end up taking you.
Provide yourself with what you need to be comfortable on a flight rather than counting on the services of your airline. Pack your headphones, a blanket and even a pillow if you feel like you will use them. Additionally, it is a good idea to bring something to snack on.
If you drive to any port city prior to going on your cruise, you can find hotels that offer free parking upon arriving the night before. Always ask the hotel staff for the policies and pricing on parking at the hotel and whether deals are available.
For extra safety when staying in a hotel, bring a door stopper with you. If you are travelling in a country less developed, it is important that the hotel have added security, especially at night. If the door on your room doesn’t have an extra deadbolt or chain in addition to the main lock, place the door stopper beneath the door before you head to bed.
